Jury announced for fourth Prix Pictet photography prize

22 February 2012

International prize in photography and sustainability

It has been revealed that, for the first time, the winner of the Prix Pictet will be announced in London. The prize for the fourth cycle of the Award will be presented by Honorary President Kofi Annan at the opening of the finalists’ exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in October 2012.

Each cycle of the award is centred on a distinct theme and this year it is power. The Jury look for photographs of the highest artistic quality, which most powerfully contribute to public awareness of issues involving sustainability, with a particular focus on the chosen theme. The fourth Prix Pictet will be judged by an internationally recognised panel of experts chaired by Professor Sir David King, Director of the Smith School of Enterprise and Environment at the University of Oxford.

Other jury members are:

  • Jan Dalley, Arts editor, Financial Times
  • Mitch Epstein, Photographer and winner of Third Prix Pictet Growth
  • Michael Fried, Art historian, poet and critic
  • Loa Haagen Pictet, Art Historian, Curator of the Pictet Collection
